About Our Sudan Coverage

Free Sudan Gazette is an independent, open-source digital media platform covering news, developments, and political and social analysis focused on Sudan. Through critical research, investigation, and documentation of political, social, and cultural events related to Sudanese people at home and abroad, we seek to elevate the voices and experiences of Sudanese people.

We believe that media propaganda and media blackout are among the most powerful tools of the warlords and oppressors. Free Sudan Gazette confronts the propaganda and media blackout by researching, gathering information, publishing accurate data, and making it available to the masses. This is our strategic objective.

We rely on a network of correspondents, writers, and journalists spread across Sudan, neighboring countries, and abroad to gather, analyze, and disseminate information as widely as possible.

We work to provide useful journalistic material in a simple, interactive way by using new media tools and methods. We offer an online platform and gazette issues in digital and paper format.

Free Sudan Gazette is volunteer-run and backed by donations from supporters. By refusing corporate or elite funding, we ensure our journalistic independence and reinforce our commitment to the people of Sudan. Our team is committed to the principles of the revolutionary charter and to a liberated Sudan.

Our Commitment to Independent Sudanese Reporting

Free Sudan Gazette exists to shatter the information blockade and the weaponization of information. We are committed solely to the people of Sudan, forging a channel for truth to flow freely and fuel the struggle for a liberated Sudan. Our reporting is more than news—it is a tool for empowerment, ensuring every Sudanese voice is heard and every story is told.

The siege on truth in Sudan will only be broken by the people. We have built the platform—the network, the tools, the independent, volunteer-run structure free from compromise. Now, we need you. Join us as a correspondent, a researcher, a supporter, or an amplifier.

Add your voice to the reclamation. Together, we will write the first draft of a free Sudan’s history.
